Acetic Acid

Applications

The primary use for Acetic Acid is, it is used as a chemical reagent in the manufacture Vinyl Acetate Monomers, and Esters, which are used in of paints, coatings, adhesives and binders, films, wire and cable and concrete additives. Acetic Acid can also be used in a number of topical medical preparations, including the destruction of warts, in eardrops, as an expectorant, liniment and astringent. It is used in the manufacture of a number of chemical compounds, plastics such as soft drink bottles, pharmaceuticals, dyes, and photographic chemicals used for film, vitamins, antibiotics, cosmetics and hormones. It is used as an latex coagulant and oil-well acidifier. It is used in textile printing and as a solvent for gums, resins and volatile oils. Acetic Acid is also used in the Food Industry uses it as an acidity regulator and preservative.
