Applications
Ammonium Bifluoride has a variety of applications, but it is mainly used in the treatment of metallic and non-metallic surfaces, as a cleaning product, but also in the oil and gas industry and as a chemical intermediate. Ammonium Bifluoride is also used for brightening of aluminum purifying and cleansing beer dispensing apparatuses, tube, and sterilization dairy and other food equipment, glass and electric bulb industry. It is also used as an etching mixture (Glass Frosting), porcelain industries. It is used as an oil well acidifier It also used in Silica Scale removal in boilers and evaporators. It is used as a wood preservative and in electroplating for pickling metals. Ammonium Bifluoride is an intermediate to produce hydrofluoric acid which is used in a number of industrial and commercial applications including cleaning and in the cleaning of bricks and ceramics. It is also used in laboratory production of Hydrogen Fluoride. It may also be used for pH adjustment in industrial textile processing or laundries.
